Separated from the mainland US is the state of Alaska. This vast land of snow and ice near the northernmost part of the world features a weather that seemed to be influenced by ice. In this state, the day seems to last for months and nights could be experienced while the sun is still shining.

Water Trips on

The land of Alaska is one of the coldest places in the world and so are their waters. Fishing is actually great in the water of Alaska. You will be able to catch salmons and halibut in no time. The White Pass and Yukon Route

Because of the Gold Rush in the end of 19th century, a railroad was built for the very purpose. This route will take you as far as Canada by age old train. You’ll be passing by scenic rivers and mountains, and the scenes are just exhilarating. You’ll be stopping by in some of the stations to enjoy local food. The travel could take hours but the train was refurbished for the purpose of accommodating the tourists for optimum convenience. The train and the railways are historical landmark protected by the government.

National Forests

More than half of the land in Alaska is owned by the Federal Government. These lands are all protected areas and refuge for animals that may be on the brink of extinction. One of the nationally recognized parks is the Denali National Park and Preserve. The place is more than 6 million acres and included in this area is Mount Mckinley. The large mammals also reside in this area. Other national reserves worth mentioning are the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Sitak National Historic Site and the Charles Rivers National Preserve.

Guided Tours

Tours can be experienced in various parts of the globe but they can’t compete with Alaska when it comes to the things that you’ll see in this place. Aside from the tour in the water, helicopter rides are common in this place. When you’re in the national parks, tours related to nature are recommended, and mountain bike rides are common offering to experience the forests.
